COMSATS has been endeavoring time and again to make the best use of latest and upcoming technologies for the benefit of its Member States. In the past, COMSATS has initiated and successfully completed a number of developmental programmes and projects of social and economic interest to the people. COMSATS’ initiatives in the fields of information and communication technologies represent its visionary developmental interventions. The projects such as COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), and COMSATS Internet Services in Pakistan, as well as the programme titled ‘ICTs for Rural Development in Mountainous and Remote Areas of Northern Pakistan’ that led to COMSATS Tele-health Programme, are some of the landmarks of its success.
