Islamabad, 31st May, 2024 – The Turkmen Ambassador to Pakistan, His Excellency Mr. Atadjan Movlamov, visited COMSATS Secretariat and held a meeting with the Executive Director COMSATS, Ambassador Dr. Mohammad Nafees Zakaria.

The two focused on fostering mutual cooperation for Research and Development in various cutting-edge technologies. During the meeting, both dignitaries exchanged views on leveraging emerging technologies for mutual benefit. Key topics of discussion included: Artificial Intelligence (AI); Information Technology (IT) and IT-enabled Services; and Cyber Security.

Amb. Zakaria emphasized COMSATS’ commitment to advancing science, technology, and innovation through South-South and Triangular Cooperation. Expressing his enthusiasm for strengthening ties with Turkmenistan, Amb. Zakaria formally invited Turkmenistan to become a Member State of COMSATS. He highlighted the potential for Turkmenistan to benefit from COMSATS’ extensive Network and resources, aligned with COMSATS’ mandate.

The visit underscored the mutual interest in exploring academic and research partnerships, aiming to bolster economic growth and development in line with global advancements in technology.
