Islamabad, 15th May 2024. COMSATS Telehealth (CTH) has been sharing its expertise and playing a significant consultative role as Pioneer Telehealth Service provider in Pakistan. COMSATS welcomes collaborations and advisory role at local and international level for sharing its expertise in digital health technologies for primary and secondary healthcare and its mainstreaming.
Owing to the renewed efforts of the COMSATS’ leadership and vision for widespread provision of Telehealth in Pakistan and replication of the Program in Member States, COMSATS Telehealth has attracted a number of Ministers in Pakistan and from foreign countries, diplomats, dignitaries and senior government officials, for discussions.
The recent visit of a delegation of Ministry of National Health Services Regulation and Coordination (NHSRC), Pakistan, and representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO), led by Deputy Director-General (MoNHSRC), Dr. Soofia Yunus was a manifestation of the growing interest in COMSATS’ tech-enabled healthcare. The visit would help them in deriving policy initiative to benefit from tech-based medical services provided by COMSATS to promote Telehealth clinics countrywide. Exploration of COMSATS Telehealth Infrastructure housed in COMSATS Internet Services led to the visitors’ understating the program’s diverse areas and medical facilities, operational aspects, financial structure, and the setup of Telehealth clinics, emphasizing the program’s capacity to reach even the remotest areas of Pakistan.
During the meeting with the Executive Director, COMSATS, Amb. Dr. Mohammad Nafees Zakaria, the visitors commended COMSATS’ efforts. The Executive Director assured organization’s support to Pakistan, which is a founding member of the IGO and hosts its Secretariat in Islamabad.
