Executive Director COMSATS, Dr. S. M. Junaid Zaidi accompanied by Dr. Kamran Jahangir, Advisor (TAC) visited the office of the UNDP’s Country Director for Pakistan, Mr. Ignacio Artaza, in Islamabad, on Friday the 10th of May 2019.

During the meeting, the Dr. Zaidi apprised the Country Director of the composition and activities of the Commission in various fields of S&T and their relevance to SDGs. COMSATS’ activities are being aligned to various SGDs and a number of efforts have been made during the last two years in this regard.

Mr. Artaza was also informed of COMSATS’ initiatives in the field of Climate Change and its corresponding interest in establishing a Centre in this field with nodes in interested developing countries.

Appreciating the spectrum of COMSATS’ activities highlighted in the briefing, Mr. Artaza also highlighted various areas of interest and operations of UNDP. He showed keen interest in COMSATS initiatives relating to SDGs and Climate Change.

Both counterparts agreed to further linkages and cooperation in these and other areas of common interest.
