COMSATS Telehealth (CTH) Program

COMSATS Telehealth (CTH) is a pioneering initiative that leverages information and communication technologies to enhance healthcare accessibility and quality in far flung and remote areas of Pakistan. Established in 2001, CTH has been at the forefront of digital health, offering a cost-effective and scalable solution to augment conventional healthcare systems.

By integrating telehealth into primary and specialist care, CTH bridges the gap between qualified healthcare professionals and patients who otherwise face geographical and socio-economic barriers to access. This model enables timely medical consultations, improves disease management, and filters out the complicated cases for timely referrals helping reduce the burden on the physical healthcare infrastructure.

Our Reach and Legacy

CTH has successfully operated Telehealth services across Pakistan from the mountainous regions of Skardu to the coastal belt of Gwadar. Notably, it is the first organization to introduce telemedicine in Balochistan, where more than 30 functional clinics are currently active.

Over the years, CTH has partnered with national and international stakeholders, including:

  • International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Canada
  • Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST), Pakistan
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board
  • World Health organization, Pakistan
  • People’s Primary Healthcare Initiative (PPHI)

These collaborations have helped advance the program’s impact on managing chronic illnesses, supporting maternal and child health, and expanding access to specialized care in resource-limited settings and furthering the tech-enabled healthcare through awareness and advocacy.
