ANSO-COMSATS Conference on
‘Artificial Intelligence Enabled Solutions for Sustainable Water Governance, Security and Safety’
April 21-24, 2026
at COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Islamabad Campus, Pakistan
(Hybrid Mode)
(Funded by CAS–ANSO Conference Grant No. CAS-ANSO-C1A-2025-05)
Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS) recognizes the urgency of ensuring water security and safety, a global issue exacerbated by climate change, rapid urbanization, industrial expansion, population growth, and rising pollution. These challenges are even more acute in regions with vulnerable infrastructure, limited monitoring capacity, and heightened exposure to extreme environmental events. Traditional methods of water management, often dependent on manual assessment and slow decision-making cycles, are increasingly inadequate for responding to contamination threats, scarcity, and infrastructural failures. Traditional water management approaches often rely on manual monitoring which is insufficient to ensure timely responses to contamination events, scarcity risks, or infrastructure failures.
Artificial Intelligence (AI), including machine learning (ML), deep learning, and big data analytics, is revolutionizing water resource management. These technologies allow for predictive modeling, real-time monitoring, anomaly detection, and automated control in complex water systems. AI-based models are being successfully integrated with Remote Sensing (RS), Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to track, predict, and improve water quality and supply with greater precision and cost-effectiveness.
COMSATS is organizing a high-level international conference titled ‘ANSO-COMSATS Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Enabled Solutions for Sustainable Water Governance, Security and Safety’ which is funded by the Alliance of National and International Science Organizations for the Belt and Road Regions (under CAS–ANSO Conference Grant No. CAS-ANSO-C1A-2025-05). The conference aims to bring together global experts, researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders to discuss emerging tools, highlight successful applications, and encourage collaborative research.
The conference is being held at the COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) in collaboration with National Research Centre (NRC), Egypt, and Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography (XIEG), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), China.
